If you are looking for the newest page of Fred, you may have noticed that something is missing from the site. Many things, actually, as I have taken down all of the pages of the series so far from the site. There is a very good reason for this: over the past six months of running the site I have broken the number one rule of webcomics over and over again… Updating on time.
Now, a large part of this problem was how much time was needed to finish a single page. I learned a lot about my own skills during the past half-year, and I have realized that I need to drastically re-think how I produce the comic in order to simply get pages done at a more acceptable pace.
I’ve been busy at work on new pages using some new methods that have allowed me to cut in half the amount of time I previously needed to complete a page. In this process I have decided to pull all of the previous pages that I’ve completed from the site with the purpose of ‘re-launching’ chapter one when I have completed all 30 or so pages of it. This will ensure that you will be able to read new pages of Fred every week and actually see the story progress a little better. The existing pages will not see much change, as I am primarily focusing on new material, but some small details may be adjusted.
